Personally, I use habit number 2 religiously: Write it down now, always. Using 1 subject spiral notebooks purchased in bulk at the end of each school year, I write down anything and everything I think of. Having all my information and thoughts in one place frees me (from needing to remember it all) and my desk (from becoming devoured by post-it notes).
